So, I was diagnosed with appendicitis in the month of November, 2021.

I went to the hospital to complain and I was asked to do a scan of my stomach. That was how I was diagnosed with acute appendicitis.

This was around the time that I was supposed to report to camp for my Nysc orientation.

Me wey don get plan say I wan go enjoy camp😅…

I digress😌

My google search went from why is the right side of my stomach paining me?

How can I cure my appendicitis?

They sha said that I should come and see the consultant which is the hospital’s general surgeon to know the next steps to take. See me thinking that I’ll collect medicine and be on my merry way.

Boy was I wrong..

Naso I see the man o, he just said “surgery la ma se o”

I just told him that i’m going to camp o.

Surgery???? It can’t be posibu

He just said “igba melo ni” within two days you’ll be fine. I just dey nod head. Okay o, I hear you.

The next thing I’m hearing is “Schedule her for surgery , let her do these tests”

I just got a buttload of antibiotics and I went to camp. The pain was a lot but the idea of undergoing a surgery was crazy.

Do you know the crazy ting? I marched in camp🥴. I marched o with belle wey dey pain me😭. Una see say I be sodiq ba #iwologbonju

I was the tallest whilst we were marching so I was the right hand marker. I shout shout o. Had it been that we won sef or were even part of the top five e for even better. Arupo la gbe, out of ten platoons we were 10th position 😭

All the pain for nothing 🥹

Sigh!

So, over the course of 2022. The pain was occurring once or twice a month. I think the highest was about a week but towards the end of the year, err October/ November thereabout, it was insane, I couldn’t walk straight. It was then that I knew that..
